Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023, at Hathorn Funeral Home for David Eugene Dixon, 40, of Columbia, who died on Monday, Sept. 25. Rev. Gatlin officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 3 p.m. until the time of the services on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Hathorn Funeral Home.
He loved spending time with his family. He was known to joke around and have fun. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. 
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Arthur Harrell; grandparents, Ray and Merry Terry; grandparents, James and Bessie Taylor; step-grandparents, W.C. and Roberta Harrell; one grandfather, Tebo Dixon; two sisters, Hazel Harrell and Amy Harrell; and one niece, Mia Trujillo.
Survivors include his mother, Annette Harrell; father, James Taylor (Charity); his companion, Angela Lowery; one stepdaughter, LaShonda Johnson; two brothers, Jamie Taylor (Karen) and Ryan Harrell; two sisters, Tabitha Taylor (Salvador) and Stephanie Hernandez (Miguel), one grandson, Stanley Eugene; and a number of nieces and nephews, along with his three dogs, Bella, Axel and Piper and one cat, Nova.
