Dorothy “DeDe” Callahan
99, Sandy Springs, Ga.
A memorial service will be held at Columbia Presbyterian Church on Thursday, April 10 at 11 a.m. for Dorothy “DeDe” Callahan, 99, who passed away in Sandy Springs, Ga., on Feb. 25, 2025.

Born Dorothy Dale Johnson on Nov. 15, 1925 in Columbia, Miss., she was the daughter of Hugh Richard and Mancie Johnson. DeDe graduated from Columbia High School and Newcomb College. In 1953, she married Capt. Wilbur Warren in Columbia and became an army wife posted in Germany, Charleston, S.C., Kansas and Hawaii. The family lived in Columbia while Will served a tour of duty in Vietnam.
DeDe enjoyed golf, tennis, bridge club, book club and her many friendships. She volunteered with numerous church, community and school endeavors.
She was predeceased by her husband, Will Warren, and second husband, Griff Callahan; son, Wally Warren; and brother, Dr. Dick Johnson of Jackson.
Survivors include daughters, Amanda and Patricia Warren; daughter-in-law, Robin Warren; sister, Joyce Moreland of Baton Rouge, La.; four grandchildren, Alexander, Briana, Chloe and Phoebe; one great-grandchild, Michael; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her first church home was Columbia Presbyterian Church where her mother served as a pianist, and she was a current member of Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church in Sandy Springs, Ga.
