Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Mt. Carmel Church of God for Ellen Martin Green, 85, of Foxworth, who passed from this life into the arms of her Jesus on Saturday, March 1. Burial followed in Hopewell Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Josh Martin and Rev. Randall Buchanan officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until the time of the services on Thursday, March 6, at Mt. Carmel Church of God.
She was born in Columbia as the last of 11 children born to Jim and Pearlie Martin and has remained a lifelong resident of Marion County. She was a faithful, lifelong charter member of Mt. Carmel Church of God. She loved gardening, cooking, spending time with her family and teaching them how to do the things that she loved.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by all of her siblings; husband, Cliff Green; two sons, Eddie and Bradley; two grandchildren, Scottie and Justin; and three great-grandchildren, D.J., Mia and Larry.
Survivors include her four daughters, Susan Trosky, Jane Turnage, Cynthia Peak and Martha Miller (Mike); son, Jimmy Peak (Mathilda); three stepsons, Ed, James and Billy; 10 grandchildren, Dale (Shelly), Chris (Shalinda), Beth, Jamie (Karen), Stephanie (Miguel), Tabitha (Indio), Tasha, Miranda, Mattie and Madison; 20 great-grandchildren, Jasper, Jacob, Laka, Calla, Canton, Hannah (Todd), Ranjer, Trevor, Andrew, Reagan, Jody (Lily), Shane (Hailey), Audriana (Carter), Devon, Malakai, Natalee, Nathan, Noah, Hailey and Harrison; and two great-great-grandsons, Kashston and Koleston.
Pallbearers were her great-grandsons.
Colonial Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
