Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024, at Colonial Funeral Home for Harry Loyd Morgan, 80, of Foxworth, who passed away on Thursday, Dec. 28, at his residence. Burial followed in Mt. Sinai Cemetery. Rev. Joe Leming officiated at the services. Visitation was held from noon until the time of the services on Tuesday, Jan. 2, at Colonial Funeral Home.
He was a carpenter for over a half of a century and worked for various construction companies including Harry Morgan Building Construction in which he owned and operated. He was also a creative problem solver that afforded him much success in life and business. He enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. He was a man of strong faith who loved gospel music and a member of Mt. Sinai Church of God. He encouraged and was highly supportive of his family, whom he loved very much, and instilled good morals and work ethics through his faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Diann Morgan; parents, Edgar Morgan and Doris Dunaway Morgan; sister, Ettie Morgan; brothers, Troy Lee Morgan and Nooley Edgar Morgan; and son-in-law, Joe Mitchell.
His memory will be forever cherished by his daughters, Lisa Diane Morgan Ashley (Gregory) and Pamela Ranee Morgan Mitchell, both of Foxworth; three grandchildren, Jessica Ashley McNeese (Trace), Joseph Tyler Mitchell (Layken) and Nyla Lord (Trent); and four great-grandchildren, Gabriella Lord, Izabella Lord, Austin “Eli” McNeese and Seeley Joseph Lord.
Pallbearers were Tyler Mitchell, Trace McNeese, Greg Ashley, Dawson Robbins, Matt Robbins, Pat Sauls, Anthony Morgan and Garron Bogle. Honorary pallbearers were Pete McNeese, LaRue Sauls, Seeley Lord, Trent Lord and Eli McNeese.
