Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, at Colonial Funeral Home for John Dubose Sr., 84, of Columbia, who passed away on Monday, Aug. 26, in Collins. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery. Rev. Darnell Bryant officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, at Colonial Funeral Home.
He proudly served in the United States Army and the MS National Guard. He went on to work in the oilfields founding Radco Fishing and Rental Tools, Inc., a business he owned until his retirement. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church, loved his family and enjoyed life with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda DuBose; parents, Dr. David DuBose and Daisy Anglin DuBose; and brothers, Jake DuBose and Mack DuBose.
Survivors include his daughter, Cathy Bryant (Darnell) of Columbia; sons, John DuBose Jr. (Carla) of Lumberton, Paul DuBose (Susan) of Hattiesburg and Stewart DuBose of Shreveport, La.; sister, Alice Lockhart of Lumberton; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were John DuBose Jr., Caleb Bryant, Jeremy Johnson, Manson DuBose, Stewart DuBose and Steve Jones. Honorary pallbearers were Paul DuBose and Micah DuBose.
