Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Columbia for Lee Anthony “Tony” Polk Sr., 80, of Columbia, who died on Friday, Oct. 20, in Hattiesburg. Burial followed in Kennedy Cemetery in Angie, La. Dr. Bryant Barnes officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Hathorn Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until the time of the services on Thursday, Oct. 26, at First Baptist Church of Columbia.
He was in the commercial construction business his entire life. He was an avid sportsman, loved elk hunting out west, dove hunting in South America and fishing in British Columbia. He enjoyed international travel, and classic cars were his passion. When he wasn’t working, he was the life of the party, always ready to tell a funny story or crack a joke.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Suzanne Polk; father, Marvin Lee Polk; and mother, Alma Coyce Stringer Polk.
Survivors include his two sons, Lee Anthony Polk Jr. and Jeffrey Kennedy Polk; daughter, Theresa Lynn Roberts (Michael); two grandchildren, Kayleigh Addison Polk and Dylan Avey Polk; two sisters, Betty Lou Brown and Beverly Coyce Shultz; and a host of nieces and nephews.
