Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, in Colonial Funeral Home Chapel for Margie Marie Blackwell Bryant, 89, of Columbia, who died on Tuesday, Oct. 15. Burial followed in Emmanuel Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Mark Dunn and Rev. Lloyd Thompson officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until the time of the services on Friday, Oct. 18 at Colonial Funeral Home.
She was born in Columbia, where she has remained a lifelong resident and was a charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee L. Bryant; daughter, Diane Chance Johnson, and son, Michael Glenn Bryant.
Survivors included her three daughters, Donna Serie’ Sullivan (Eddie), Brenda Bryant Pacher (Billy) and Melissa Bryant Hulett (Rusty); 10 grandchildren, Brannon Bryant, Stacey Chance, Traci Chance, John Chance, Colby Johnson, Leanne Serie’ Thomas, Emilee Pacher, Aaron Pacher, Katelyn Hulett and Kyle Hulett; seven great-grandchildren, Morgan Chance, Jude Chance, Hadyn Chance, Jonah Wilks, Mari-Claire Johnson, Laney Johnson and Lucy Johnson, and sister-in-law, Betty J. Bryant.
Pallbearers were Brannon Bryant, Stacey Chance, John Chance, Hadyn Chance, Aaron Pacher, Kyle Hulett, Jonah Wilks, Jude Chance, Eddie Sullivan, Rusty Hulett, Billy Pacher and Justin Thomas.
The Bryant family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the staff of The Grove for the loving care provided to their mother.
