Marie I. Day
92, Kokomo
In celebration of her life, graveside services were held at noon on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, in Kokomo Community Cemetery for Marie I. Day, 92, of Kokomo. She was a beloved daughter of God the Father and moved into her heavenly home prepared for her in Christ Jesus on Friday, Jan. 12, in her final peaceful moments surrounded by her two sons.
She was born in McComb on Nov. 2, 1931. She was married for 49 years to her late husband, Jimmie L. Day.
She was passionate about sharing the love of our Lord with others and spent her last days praising the Lord in song. Marie was dedicated to worshiping with, loving and feeding her friends and family, as well as building community wherever she went.
Survivors include her two sons, Thomas M. Day and Michael L. Day (Ruth); granddaughters, Michelle Day Da Silva (Leo) and Abigail Marie Yu (Tim); and great-grandson Oliver Day Da Silva.
John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die."
“O Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
the clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
the trump shall resound and the Lord shall descend;
even so, it is well with my soul.” - Spafford
Her faith has now become sight!
