Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel for Rebecka A. "Becky” Stringer Rogers, 59, of the Improve Community, who passed away on Saturday, June 29. Burial followed in the Rogers-Stringer Family Cemetery. Rev. Reed Houston and Rev. Mark McArthur officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, and from 9 a.m. until the time of the services on Wednesday, July 3, at Colonial Funeral Home.
She was born on May 23, 1965, in Columbia, to Robert A. and Wilhemine “Lore” Stringer. She was a graduate of Columbia High School after moving to Columbia in 1980 from Leesville, La. She worked in the pipeline construction industry for 16 years and was employed for the last two years with Focus Pipeline. She was an avid New Orleans Saints fan and season ticket holder. Her favorite place was the Grand Teton’s National Park where she had the privilege of working for four seasons. She had a great sense of humor. She was a very giving and caring person who loved people and especially loved dogs.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert A. “Bobby” Stringer; and nephew, Jason A. Stephens.
Survivors include her husband, James G. “Jimmy” Rogers of Columbia; stepson, Michael Rogers (Ann) of Columbia; mother, Wilhemine “Lore” Stringer of Columbia; sister, Gloria Butler of Columbia; brother, Creg Stringer (Georgia) of Columbia; niece, Jennifer Stringer of Columbia; nephew, Aaron Stringer of Columbia; “grandchildren,” Jake and Noah Faglie of Heartshorn, Okla. and Asher Williams of Durant, Okla.; and a host of cousins and friends.
Pallbearers were Trey Faglie, Stevie Rogers, Ratliff Fortenberry, Aaron Stringer, Michael Rogers and Bradly Stringer.
Colonial Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
