89, Foxworth
A celebration of life was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Turnage Chapel Congregational Methodist Church in Foxworth for Richard Lavern Stogner, 89, of Foxworth, who died on Saturday, July 15. Burial followed in Turnage Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Ronnie Morgan officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday, July 17, Turnage Chapel Congregational Methodist Church in Foxworth.
It is with great sadness to announce our family patriarch, Richard Lavern Stogner, passed away. He was born in Walthall County and lived most of his life in Marion County. He served more than 21 years in the U.S. Army and retired as master sergeant. He worked with the Marion County School System where he also retired.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandpa too. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of Turnage Chapel Congregational Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 54 years, Glen Harrell Stogner; parents, Hickman Stogner and Angie McMichael Stogner; and brothers, Windell Stogner and Trellis Stogner.
Survivors include his two daughters, Pamela Todd and Peggy Gates, both of Foxworth; his son, Richard Stogner Jr. (Jeannett) of Alma, Ark.; six grandchildren, Malanie Dyer (Chris), Shannon Rose (Jeremy), Ryan Ryals (Crystal), Wade Gates, Elyse Taber (James) and Stephen Stogner (Esther); six great-grandchildren, Preston Rose, Haleigh Rose, Taytum Ryals, Bryson Taber, Brantlee Thomas and Jameson Gates; and numerous extended family and friends.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Stogner, Tony Stogner, Chuck Harrell, Ryan Ryals, Wade Gates and Stephen Stogner.
“What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we loved deeply becomes part of us.” We love you, Daddy!
