Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Darbun Mennonite Church in Kokomo for Roman Miller, 83, of Foxworth, who died on Sunday, July 16, in Columiba. Burial followed in Darbun Mennonite Church Cemetery in Kokomo. Bro. Klaas Reimer, Bro. Lyndon Burkholder and Bro. Jerald Witner officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, and from 9 a.m. until the time of the services on Wednesday, July 19, at Darbun Mennonite Church.
He was born on Oct. 11, 1939, in Hartville, Ohio. He was married to his wife, Barbara Miller, on Oct. 20, 1960, and they were married for 53 years. He was an avid bird watcher and put many puzzles together. He also reported the weekly rainfall to the local newspaper for many years. He was a member of Darbun Mennonite Church in Kokomo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Miller; son, Dwayne Miller; parents, Noah and Fannie Stutzman Miller; foster daughter, Tina Haven; three brothers, John Miller, Eli Miller and Pete Miller; and daughter-in-law, Virginia Miller.
Survivors include his two sons, David Miller of Seymour, Mo., and Mark Miller of Green City, Mo.; two daughters, Martha Strite (Paul) of Foxworth and Dorothy Coblentz (Norman) of Hartselle, Ala.; one sister, Ada Kennedy of Sarasota, Fla.; 25 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one daughter-In-Law, Mina Hostetler (Allen) of Seymour, Mo.; and one sister-in-law, Catherine Miller of Cochranton, Penn.
Pallbearers were Lyndon Coblentz, Daniel Strite, William Miller, Gerald Miller, Philip Coblentz and Timothy Strite. Honorary pallbearers were Jonathan Strite and Nathan Strite.
