Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, in Woodlawn Cemetery for Susan Geiger Powell, 71, of Columbia, who passed away on Monday, Jan. 15, at her residence in Columbia. Rev. Mark McArthur officiated at the services.
She was of the Baptist faith and retired after 30 years of employment with Rutter-Rex. She loved to read and enjoyed crafting. She was an avid animal lover and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burt Powell; her son, Benjamin Adam Powell; parents, Milton “Ben” Geiger and Alice White Geiger; and brother, Jeffery Geiger.
She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Ramshur and Cindy Robichaux (Jeff); her son, Scott Powell; brother, Milt “Butch” Geiger; four grandchildren, Breanne Lewis, Brice Ramshur, Karlee Powell and Peyton Powell; and two great-grandchildren, Ellie Lewis and Josie Lewis.
