Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Colonial Funeral Home for Tina Martin, 64, of Sandy Hook, who died on Saturday, June 24, in Jackson. Burial followed in Foxworth Cemetery. Dr. Tommy King and Rev. Ricky Daugherty officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, at Colonial Funeral Home.
She was born in Tylertown and was a resident of Sandy Hook. She worked for several businesses, including Southern Tire Mart and First Southern Bank where she retired after 20 years. She loved her “First” family and enjoyed the outdoors gardening and being near her “animals.” Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick "Fred" Forbes Jr. and Elizabeth Ann Berry Forbes; a brother, Edward Malcolm "Eddie" Forbes; and an infant son.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Martin; daughter, Lisa Ann Martin Stringer (Brian); son, David Martin; brother, Fredrick "Ricky" Forbes III (Kalinda); three grandchildren, Megan Ann Stringer, Natalie Lynn Martin and Tyler Stringer; and a sister-in-law, Shannon Forbes.
Pallbearers were Brian Stringer, Blake McDaniel, Ricky Fortner, Jesse McMurry, Scott Davis6 and Brock Howell. Honorary pallbearer was Tyler Stringer.
