Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, at Hathorn Funeral Home for Vera “Annette” Wigley, 83, of Foxworth, who passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 16. Burial followed in Foxworth Cemetery in Foxworth. Rev. Ron Jordan and Dave Nichols officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, at Hathorn Funeral Home.
She lived a beautiful life of 83 years surrounded by her family and grandchildren. She was a southern lady through and through. She enjoyed cooking for her friends and family along with shopping. She was a devoted wife and caregiver not only to her husband but to her family. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father, J.D. Sanders; mother, Mavis Sanders; two daughters, Rhonda Bullock and Sheila Smith; one son, Ronnie Smith; and one brother, Dale Sanders.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years of marriage, Mr. James Wigley; two children, James “Greg” Smith (Melinda) and Stacy Sanders (Brent); one brother, Richard Sanders; one sister, Bertie Bullock; step-daughters, Rebecca Downing (Ricky), Debbie McKinley and Dee Dee Moffett (Kevin); eight grandchildren, Jenny Delancey (Bobby), Danny Bullock (Mary-Jo), Kelly Money, Demi Rymarowicz, Corey Smith (Tiffany), Tessa Nolan (Michael), Joshua Sanders and Megan Sanders; 19 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bobby Delancey, Zachary Delancey, Madden Nolan, Michael Nolan, Corey Smith and Joshua Sanders.
