Funeral services were held at noon on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Shiloh Baptist Church for Virginia B. Nichols, 97, of Tylertown, who passed away on Sunday, April 6, at her residence. Burial followed in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Roy Tidwell officiated at the services. Special music was performed by Rex Lucas. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until the time of the services on Saturday, April 12, at Shiloh Baptist Church.

She was born on Thursday, April 7, 1927, in Marion County, to the late Robert Boyles and Eliza Forbes Boyles. She enjoyed working on her farm raising cattle, being outdoors, flowers, traveling when she was able and spending time with family and her extended church family.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Edgar Nichols; sons, Jimmie Nichols and Robert Henry Nichols; and daughters, Ruth Kathryn Cox and Judith Nichols.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Lilley; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of loving family and friends.
Pallbearers were Brantley Swonke, Garrett Cox, Andrew Emmons, Logan Nichols, Jimmy Swonke, and Robert Henry Nichols. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Monroe Nichols, Jimmie Nichols and David Cox.
