This fall, Columbia Academy celebrated its Golden (50th) Homecoming Event. Just as we celebrated the traditions that make CA a unique and vibrant member of Columbia and Marion County, the Board of Directors for Columbia Academy wants to celebrate its long-standing tradition of academic excellence and college preparedness by enumerating the many advantages its students and patrons enjoy.
Columbia Academy offers an exceptional academic environment. CA classes provide a low student teacher ratio of 13:1. CA’s faculty has the incredible opportunity, regardless of grade level, to know the entire student body and help with their development for multiple years. Once a week students attend a school-wide devotional and also participate in daily classroom devotionals. Columbia Academy strives to grow students in all aspects of life: socially, spiritually, athletically and academically.
Columbia Academy has a 100% graduation rate, and all high school students follow a college preparatory tract. The weekday ACT is given twice a year, in the spring and fall at Columbia Academy. Data from the latest ACT profile for Columbia Academy indicates CA’s average ACT composite score is 21.3. This composite score is 2.9 points higher than the state average and 0.6 higher than the national average.
In addition, CA students who are enrolled in honors classes scored an average of 23.6 in math, 25 in reading and 28 in English. Fifty-five percent of CA juniors and 67% of seniors have qualified for a college scholarship based solely on their ACT score.
Our teachers devote time to students individually before, during, and after school providing a nurturing educational environment, which is evident in this data.
Building on the first 50 years of excellence, Columbia Academy continues to provide a quality educational experience for students from kindergarten through graduation. Visitors are welcome to come by and see first-hand what Columbia Academy has to offer your student and your family. n
