It is disappointing that in a recent edition, the C-P decided to publish in the “Looking Back” section a story concerning the late Ms. Helen Hood.
As many are aware, Ms. Hood paid her debt to society in full when she was still a young woman. She then went on to serve this community selflessly through education as well as involvement with children in her church.
Ms. Hood lived her latter years with integrity that was above reproach, something we all should strive for. To resurrect this unfortunate, isolated event in her life only serves to unnecessarily tarnish what would otherwise be a legacy of service to others, particularly children.
The publishing of the story was unfair to her memory as well as to her surviving family, and was frankly without taste.
