Concerning the Mississippi Department of Transportation replacing bridges: I saw a report on WDAM about an interchange on Interstate 59 in Hattiesburg to be constructed by MDOT. My question is if this interchange is needed as badly as replacing bridges that are old and in desperate need of repair or replacement.
For instance, the lower bridge on U.S. 98 crossing the Pearl River in Columbia. I know it has had very little work in 65 years. I feel it is extremely dangerous. I do not cross it any longer in fear it will collapse.
