Members of the Junior Beta Club are participating in a tutoring program for students who need help with academic needs including math, reading, and science. There was a joint effort for creating the morning XSTREAM tutoring sessions between Dr. Sara Bardwell and Mrs. Danielle Whittington last year. The goal for the program is for kids to be their best self. The kids getting tutored are actually not the only ones this program is benefitting. Beta Club members can have an opportunity to showcase leadership skills while mentoring younger students or peers. Student tutors also gain a deeper understanding of
material when it is taught to someone else. The kids who get tutored have an
opportunity to improve their
confidence and their grade. Anyone can participate and must be at CES from 7:00 to 7:30 in the morning before school to receive their tutoring. There are usually around ten students at a time receiving additional help each morning. This benefits the teachers because anytime a student can lead, it impacts the school, community, and their life. In order for each student to receive the necessary help, the teacher identifies the needs of the students who are attending the tutoring program. For it to be successful, students must arrive at school early to participate. This program attempts to get students prepared for the next grade. They hope to expand in order for more students to receive help. Come check it out for yourself!
