At CES we had a mini field day for our students to celebrate earning an “A” rating. This field day took place on March 24, 2023. There were snacks and all kinds of activities for students to enjoy. Our Interventionist, Mrs. Kim Davis, made this all happen. Some of the ideas for the games were from Pinterest and others were games that she had seen other school or church functions use with their kids. There were nine stations and the most popular station out of all was Hungry, Hungry Hippo, which took place in the cafeteria. Here, four students were able to get on a rolling dolly and use a laundry basket to collect plastic balls for their team while other students placed them in their box. Other rotations included archery, WiiU games, giant outdoor games like Connect Four, a dance party, and a glow party. All students were invited to wear neon colors and were each provided with glow sticks while in the library which was blacked out with glow party games. There were also free snacks such as popcorn, snow cones, and cotton candy where students could play games and eat. The snack store was a huge hit where kids could purchase everything from pickle pops to pizza and nachos. Dutharene’s, LaBelle’s, and Columbia Medical Supply kindly donated cases of water to CES so that each staff member and student had a cold bottle of water while they enjoyed the field day. We will finish state testing in the next week and look forward to hopefully receiving another “A” rating for our school.
