Election Day was a day for incumbents throughout Marion County as the four local races with a challenger all ended with the current seat holder winning on Tuesday.
Marion County Republican Sheriff Berkley Hall (4,705 votes) held off Independent challenger Mike Childress (2,001) by more than 2,500 votes.
In the District 2 Supervisor race, Republican John Moree narrowly edged out Democrat James Lowe by an 878-583 margin.
Republican Tony Morgan retained his position as District 3 Supervisor over Democrat Darrick McGowan with 899 votes to 423.
Republican Krae Morgan will serve a second term as District 1 Constable, topping Democrat Brian Foxworth 2,162-1,038.
In other races pertinent to Marion County, Bill Pigott, R-Tylertown earned 1,625 votes in Marion County for the State House of Representatives in District 99 to Green Party candidate Gregory Todd “Ttodd” Fortenberry’s 333.
Republican Gov. Tate Reeves retained his spot statewide and earned 4,433 votes in Marion County to Democrat challenger Brandon Presley’s 2,786.
