The primary election is less than a month away on Aug. 8, and two precincts in Marion County have been moved to new locations.
The National Guard precinct at the old armory has been moved to the Community Room at the BusinessPlex, while the South Columbia precinct at the Chancery Annex Courtroom has been relocated to the Duckworth Building at Duckworth Park.
The Marion County Circuit Clerk’s office inside the courthouse will be open July 29 and Aug. 5 from 8 a.m. until noon for absentee voting. The deadline for absentee voting is Aug. 5.
Following the primary election, any potential run-off elections will be held three weeks following the primary election. A run-off is only necessary if no candidate receives 50% of the vote plus one in the primary.
The general election will be Nov. 7.
