Two attempts to steal vehicles within a week ended with the Marion County Sheriff Office making multiple arrests.
The first event happened on May 24, when Calvin Austin Perry, 24, of McCall, allegedly took a vehicle from a parking lot from a store in Goss. Marion County deputies were able to get a description of the car and the driver. Perry allegedly headed north to Jeff Davis County, left the vehicle and fled on foot.
Deputy Tyler Creel and his K-9 partner were dispatched to Jeff Davis County, where the K-9 deputy successfully tracked down the suspect.
As of press time, Perry is in the Marion County Jail on charges of larceny, grand: vehicle or another and petit larceny. He is being held on a bond of $26,000 for the two charges.
Exactly one week later, on May 31, there was another attempt to steal a vehicle. Shortly after midnight, county dispatch received a call about a possible stolen truck. An alert was issued with a description of the vehicle to city and county law enforcement. Two hours later, the stolen vehicle was located at the Circle K gas station in Columbia. The alleged suspects, Charles Farentino Jordon, 18, of Columbia, and Antonio Brown, 18, of Foxworth, were inside the vehicle and taken into custody.
