Pastor Installation
Christian Hill Missionary Baptist Church invites you to its pastor installation for Rev. Marvin Pittman at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27. Guest speaker will be Percy J. Moore. A fellowship dinner will follow.
East Marion Parent Meeting
East Marion High School Spring Annual Title I Parent Engagement Meetings will be held at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29 in the high school library. Topics of discussion will be school’s accountability model, school’s report cards, parents’ right to know, school-parent compact, decisions of 1 percent reservation set-aside funds for parental engagement and much more.
West Marion Parent Meeting
All parents and students are invited to attend Grade Transition Parent Night for current eighth and ninth grade students. April Williams, high school counselor, will have two sessions in the gymnasium. First session, eighth grade students and parents will meet from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. and second session, ninth grade students and parents will meet from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Topics of discussions include class scheduling and Mississippi high school graduation pathways. Refreshments will be served.

Rummage Sale
Goss Baptist Church Rummage Sale will be held from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2. Clothes, furniture, electronics, toys, baby items and much more. There will also be a quilt show, fabric and bake sales.

Lions Club Pancake Supper
The Columbia Lions Club will have its annual Pancake Supper from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7 in the Community Room of the Marion County Business Plex, formerly the Columbia Training School. Tickets can be purchased from any Columbia Lions Club member.
