Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, at Colonial Funeral Home for Amanda Beard Broom, 42, of Columbia, who died on Thursday, Feb. 1. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery. Bro. Mark McArthur and the Rev. Randy Buchanan officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7, at Colonial Funeral Home.
A native of Tylertown, she was a homemaker and a member of North Columbia Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Miranda Cheyenne Beard, and mother, Patsy Ruth Hitt.
Survivors include her husband, John Broom; son, John Dalton Broom; father, Gaston Simmons Beard, and brother, Joseph A. “Joey” Beard.
