Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018, at Improve Baptist Church for Charlene Hutson Williams Taylor, 85, of Columbia, who died on Monday, Feb. 26, in Hattiesburg. Burial followed in Improve Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Darel Daniels officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until the time of services on Friday, March 2, at Improve Baptist Church.
A native of Marion County, MS she was a bookkeeper for the city of Slidell, LA for many years and a member of Improve Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ferrel H. Williams; parents, Charlie Hutson and Mary Margaret Morris Hutson; sisters, Ruth Cox, Joyce Cox, Selma Stringer and Ema Lou Daughdrill, and brother, Jessie Hutson.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Taylor of Improve; daughter, Karen Doucet (Randy) of Brunswick, Ga.; son, Danny Williams (Mary) of Picayune; three granddaughters, Lauren Doucet, Jessica Williams and Jaclyn Chavers, and two great-grandsons, Levi Chavers and Lincoln Mogolon.
