A graveside memorial service was held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, in Woodlawn Cemetery for Curtis Burley Young Jr., 63, of Columbia, who died on Monday, Oct. 23, in Hattiesburg. Dr. Joe Wiggins officiated at the services.
He was born on March 23, 1954, to Curtis Burley Young Sr. and Dorothy Pope Young in Columbia. He had many talents and hobbies including painting, archery, golf, hunting and fishing. He spent most of his working career as a funeral director at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia.
He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Burley Young Sr. and sisters, Linda Harger and Sadie Rogers.
Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Young; aunt, Vera Broome; daughter and son-in-law, Liz and Joey Sibley; sons and daughters-in-law, Lee and Melody Wood and Russell and Amanda Young; eight grandchildren, Ashton Sibley, Melissa Sibley, Jonathan Wood, Alex Sibley, Katherine Wood, Anderson Wood, Judah Young and Hunter Young and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Joey Sibley, Russell Young, Ashton Sibley, and Alex Sibley.
Colonial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
