Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, at Hathorn Funeral Home for Emma Jean Carson, 83, of Columbia, who died on Saturday, Dec. 2, in Columbia. Burial followed in Greens Creek Cemetery. Bro. Bob Burge officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3, at Hathorn Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Virgie Dyess; two daughters, Linda Gerard and Loretta Carson, and husband, Milton Carson.
Survivors include her 6 daughters, Dianne Slay (Chuck) of Terry, Jeanette Thompson of Cleveland, Texas, Vickie Berry (Eugene) of Sandy Hook, Shirley Raynes of Oak Vale, Rita Martin (Robert) of Foxworth, Sandra Smith (Larry) of Ellisville; three sons, James Carson of Dallas, Texas, Hollis Ray Davis (Annette) of Carson, Lamar Carson of Columbia and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
