Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, at Colonial Funeral Home for Enoch “E.J” Willoughby, 71, of Carson, who died on Friday, Sept. 8, at his residence. Interment followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Wade Barnes officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 10, at Colonial Funeral Home.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a service manager with Columbia Motors and Equipment Service Company. He was a member of Goss Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Linda White; parents, Charlie and Carmen Willoughby; sisters, Mary Lou Williamson and Patsy Williamson, and brother, Charlie Willoughby Jr.
Survivors include his son, Drake Willoughby of Columbia; brother, Johnny Willoughby (Jeannie) of Columbia; former wife, Donis Stringer, with whom he had rekindled a friendship; numerous nieces and nephews and his nephew, Rudolph Williamson, with whom he shared the love of the outdoors.
Pallbearers were Austin Eiler, Mike Williamson, John Emmitt Stamps, Ryan Williamson, Bandy Grace and Robbie Anthony.
