Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at Hathorn Funeral Home for James Larry Dillon, 68, of Columbia, who died peacefully on Friday, Jan. 19, at his residence. Burial followed in Hawpond Cemetery in Walthall County. Bishop James Carney and Bro. Stephen Binion officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until the time of the services on Tuesday, Jan. 23, at Hathorn Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lucy Dillon.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Pitts Dillon of Columbia; son, Anthony Murphy of Brookhaven; five daughters, Candese Moreno-Olan (Javier) and Toni Moreno, both of Fairhope, Ala., Jackie Moreno of Hattiesburg, Sandy Dillon of Louisiana and Sandra Lacompte of Brookhaven; brother, Bill Dillon (Bobbie) of Louisiana; three sisters, Betty Watson and Jaretta Boyd (Allen) of Mt. Herman, La., and Willie McKenzie of Tylertown; nephew, Kyle McKenzie (Nancy) of Tylertown; 15 grandchildren, Anthony, Alexandria, Angelica, Gabriella, Lillian, Matthew, Roman, Jackson, Noah, Hunter, Connar, Caden, Chase, Macie and Kimberly; two great-grandchildren, Kendell and Wendell and a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were his nephews.
