Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018, at Hathorn Funeral Home for James Nelson Starling, 75, of Kokomo, who died on Monday, March 5, in Hattiesburg. Bro. Tim Morrison will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of the services on Friday, March 9, at Hathorn Funeral Home.
Born in Columbus, Ga., he served our nation faithfully in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he received a Purple Heart for his service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. and Florence L. Howard Starling, and one son, Jeffery N. Starling.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Starling of Kokomo; two daughters, Kimberly Starling of Phenix City, Ala. and Carole Starling of Herman, Maine; three sons, Jason Starling of Phenix City, Ala., Jace Anthony of Kokomo and Kenneth Anthony Jr. of Columbia; one brother, Mike Starling of Snellville, Ga.; two sisters, Carol Lee of Snellville, Ga. and Peggy Reagan of Foxworth and a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
