Funeral services were held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Magee’s Creek Baptist Church for June Yarborough Broome, 80, of Columbia, who died on Friday, July 7, in Columbia. Interment followed in Magee’s Creek Cemetery. Dr. Bryant Barnes and the Rev. Archie Herrin officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, July 10, at Colonial Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the time of the services on Tuesday, July 11, at Magee’s Creek Baptist Church.
A native of Walthall County, she was a salutatorian of Marion Walthall High School Class of 1955. She was employed with Citizen’s Bank and retired after 33 years. She was also a member of First Baptist Church Columbia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Broome; parents, Wood and Pauline Piggot Yarborough and sister, Brenda Sue Yarborough.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Thornhill of Columbia; brother, Jimmy Yarborough (Nell) of Tylertown; grandchildren, Brooke, Lane, Colby, Canyon and Jaden and great grandchild, Madison.
