Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 24, 2017, at Colonial Funeral Home for Mrs. Mary Lou Brumfield, 78, Foxworth, who passed away on Friday, July 21, in Hattiesburg. Interment followed in Foxworth Cemetery. The Rev. Dane Hodges, the Rev. Cory Odom and the Rev. Zach Smith officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, at Colonial Funeral Home.
She was a professional hairstylist and owned and operated Mary’s Beauty Shop until her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church Foxworth.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Heath Wesley; parents, Arthur and Rosie Mae Dunaway Conerly; sister, Claudia Robertson and brothers, J.C. Conerly and R.W. Conerly.
Survivors include her husband, Billy W. Brumfield of Foxworth; two daughters, Nita Oglesbee (Richard) and Rita Wesley (Rusty), both of Columbia; two sons, Ferrel Brumfield (Debbie) and Darrel Brumfield (Vanya), both of Foxworth; sister, Arthur Mae Hartfield (J.W.) of Foxworth; 12grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers were Jason Brumfield, Tyler Brumfield, Brad Rimes, Hunter Broome, Vol White and Hunter Oglesbee.
Colonial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
