A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2020, in Woodlawn Cemetery for Monique Laree Goar, 54, of Sandy Hook, who died on Friday, April 24 at her parent’s home in Sandy Hook. A Mass will be held at a later date at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
She grew up in Sandy Hook where she graduated from West Marion High School in 1984. She then went on to graduate from Pearl River Community College in 1986. She was a cosmetologist for 17 years, working in Columbia and Hattiesburg. She was later diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 37 and battled the disease for 17 years until God called her home.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Russell and Claire Hubert.
Survivors include her parents, Herbert and Joan Berry of Sandy Hook; one sister, Yvonne Morgan of Columbia; two children, Corinn Goar of Foxworth and Tiffany Yonce (Clint) of Petal; five grandchildren, Krya Little, Mason Little, Ava Polk, Zakkery Ray and Peyton Yonce; one niece, Sarah Viniard and two nephews, Colin Vann and Cole Morgan.
