Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, at Rocky Branch Missionary Baptist Church for Rosa Madora Broom Bond, 85, of Sumrall, who died on Wednesday, Oct. 11, in Hattiesburg. Interment followed in Rocky Branch Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Arinder officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the services at Rocky Branch Missionary Baptist Church.
A native of Marion County, she was a homemaker and a member of Rocky Branch Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sammie Eugene “Pete” Bond; son, Jimmy Dale Bond; parents, Clement Harvey and Emily Irene Broom; sister, Wynonna Kilpatrick and brother, Columbus Edward Broom.
Survivors include her four daughters, Rosa Jean Fitzpatrick of Sumrall, Rita Mae Broom (Dale) of Morgantown, Emily Darnell Bond Smith of Foxworth and Kathy Montague (Mark) of Petal; three sons, Ray Bond (Diane) of Poplarville, and Cary Bond (Sue) and Sammie Bond, both of Sumrall; 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ricky Williams, Will Smith, Dalton Hicks, Joseph Bond, Jacob Lewis, Timothy Martin, Tyler Martin and Michael Bond.
