Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church for Samuel “Sam” Ramshur, 55, of Columbia, who died on Friday, Jan. 5, in Hattiesburg. Burial followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Todd Sumrall officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6, at Colonial Funeral Home and from 2 p.m. until the time of the services at Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
A native of Marion County, he was an equipment operator in construction.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Winston and Mary Ramshur.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Ramshur of Columbia; four daughters, Regina Stephens (Rick) of Columbia, Carla Smith (Chris) of Sontag, Felicia Stringer (Chad) of Foxworth and Samantha Nelson (Jeremy) of Florida; son, Jason Brady (Trista) of Columbia; sister, Margaret King (Danny) of Columbia; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
