Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday,
Aug. 30, 2017, at Colonial Funeral Home for Mrs. Tammer Hudson Roberts, 85, a lifelong resident of Columbia, who passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 28, at home surrounded by family. Interment was in the Emanuel Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Mike Grenn and the Rev. Chris Cauley officiated the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday,
Aug. 29, at Colonial Funeral Home. Special music was provided by her granddaughter, Olivia Carney.
She was born on April 4, 1932, in Columbia, to the late Vester Maxwell and Etta Grimsley Maxwell. She enjoyed reading her bible, cooking, was known for her chicken and dumplings, caring for her plants and most of all, visiting with her children and family.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Isaac Hudson and the Rev. Thomas Roberts, and grandsons, Jeremy McCraw, Corey Hudson and Troy Hudson.
She is survived by her children, Lucille Turlich (Noel), Charlene Stampley (Richard), Charles Hudson (Nelda), Linda Graves, Jimmy Hudson (Bonnie), Donis Smith and Dennis Hudson (Bernadette), and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Wayne McCraw, Mac Hudson, Rich Stampley Kelly Stampley, Chris Ball, Phillip Grayson and Jamie Hudson.
The family would like to say Thank You for your prayers and every act of kindness bestowed upon us during this time.
