William J. ‘Bill’ Long
74, Spring Hill, Tenn.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home for William J. “Bill” Long, 74, of Spring Hill, Tenn., who died on Monday, Nov. 27. Pastor Joe Copolo will officiate at the services. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home.
He was born in Quitman to the late Hubert Long and Annie Bell Carmichael Long. He and his wife, Joan, are members of the Franklin Christian Church. He retired from Sears after 30 years and was an avid Mississippi State University fan. Most of all he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many who will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Steve Long and Elizabeth “Prissy” Gates.
Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Joan Long; children, Suzanne Reed (Steve) and Alan “Scott” Long (Jill); grandchildren, Abigail “Abbey” Reed, Garrison Reed and Bryce Long; siblings, Bettye Floyd, Mollye Ward, Beverly Ann Blair and Diane Carlin (Doug).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Graceworks Ministries, Best Buddies or Franklin Christian Church.
