Football tickets for Columbia High School games will remain at $7 this year, but the admission price for other sports in the city district will increase from $5 to $6.
But fans can get into all sporting events throughout the year with an all-sports pass for $100 for adults and $50 for students.
Reserved seating is available for an additional $15 per sport.
The school board unanimously approved the pricing Monday.
Superintendent Jason Harris said the increase is primarily to offset the district’s increased costs for things like security and officiating.
Harris said they had something similar to the all-sports pass last year but only had minimal participation.
He said they tried to make it a reasonable cost for families, for example, with younger children whose siblings were playing on athletic teams.
“If you’re a big Wildcat fan coming to a lot of games, this is the way to go,” he said.
Passes will be sold at the high school.
The board had previously increased football tickets from $6 to $7 last year. Harris said a number of districts have moved to $8 for football, and Columbia might explore that for next year.
Board Member Eric Lucas asked if they let children in free, and Harris said no, explaining that they have a problem already with parents dropping off young children alone at sporting events and not picking them up on time and that would likely increase if they let children in at no cost.
