All-Marion County 1st Team

By JOSHUA CAMPBELL,

Pitcher-Shelby Terrell, WM, Sr.: The Marion County MVP and Pitcher of the Year went 11-1 with a 1.38 ERA and 119 strikeouts to just 11 walks in 81 1/3 innings. He also hit .291 with two homers and 20 RBI.

Pitcher-Javen Moses, CHS, Jr.: Moses became the bona fide ace for CHS with a 5-0 record, 2.08 ERA, two no-hitters and 41 strikeouts in 33 2/3 innings. He also hit .371 with nine extra-base hits (2 HR), 20 RBI and 25 runs scored.

Pitcher-Kyle Herring, CA, Jr.: Herring developed into the staff ace at CA with a 6-1 record, 2.10 ERA, a no-hitter and 39 strikeouts to only 15 walks in 40 innings.

Pitcher-Brett Jenkins, WM, Sr.: In the biggest start of his career, Jenkins tossed a complete-game gem to advance the Trojans past St. Andrew’s. He went 4-1 on the year with a 3.43 ERA and 31 strikeouts to only seven walks in 34 2/3 innings. He also hit four home runs.

DH-Devin Daniels, EM, Jr.: Daniels carried the Eagles at the plate with a .558 average, 11 extra-base hits (3 HR and four triples), 17 RBI, 28 runs scored and 23 stolen bases.

Utility-Jayden Duncan, WM, So.: Duncan dominated at the dish with a .411 average, 17 extra-base hits (3 HR) and 35 RBI and on the mound with a 3.32 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 52 2/3 innings.

Catcher-Clay Blocker, WM, Sr.: After making the first team last year, Blocker took his game to another level in 2019. He improved his power with three homers, walked more than he struck out and his arm kept the running game in check. For the year, he drove in 26 runs and had 14 extra-base hits.

1st Base-Landon Sanders, CHS, Jr.: Sanders hit .338 with nine doubles, one homer, 23 RBI and 18 runs scored. He also went 3-1 on the mound with a 3.44 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 38 2/3 innings.

2nd Base-Cannon Mock, CHS, Sr.: Mock helped set the table at the top of the order with a team-best .538 on-base percentage and tied for the team lead with 11 stolen bases and 25 runs scored.

Shortstop-Aiden Singley, CHS, Jr.: Singley led the Wildcats with a .408 average, launched one long ball and drove in 14 runs. He also went 3-3 with a 3.32 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 31 2/3 innings on the mound.

3rd Base-Slade Wilks, CA, Jr.: Wilks played shortstop for CA, but with his build and the wealth of shortstops in Marion County he slots in at third on this team. Wilks cranked 12 homers, including two grand slams, had 29 RBI, stole 13 bases and hit .414 with a .600 on-base percentage.

Outfield-Riles Stuart, CA, Jr.: In his first year back on the diamond, “Rudy” hit .303 with two homers, seven doubles, 25 RBI and 17 runs scored. He also threw a complete-game shutout and struck out 47 in 30 innings.

Outfield-Josh Boone, WM, So.: While playing perhaps the best outfield defense in the county, Boone was also the perfect leadoff man for the Trojans. He hit .350, scored 38 runs and stole 21 bases.

Outfield-Alex Morgan, CHS, Jr.: Morgan seemed to step up when it mattered most and hit .328 with seven doubles, a home run, 16 RBI and 11 stolen bases.
