West Marion-14
East Marion-12
While no points were scored in the second half, there was no shortage of drama as West Marion (3-0) outlasted rival East Marion (1-2) late for a 14-12 victory.
Both teams combined to turn it over five times in the fourth quarter alone, but it came down to the very last play. The Eagles drove 73 yards in two minutes with several heart-thumping, highlight plays that set them up at the Trojans' 7-yard line with 12.6 seconds remaining. Facing a third down, Daniels took a shot in the end zone, but Flenard McLin was well covered and the pass fell incomplete. With one last shot at the end zone left, Daniels stood firm in the pocket and had a chance for a touchdown, but West Marion's Daqwan Jones batted the ball down at the line to seal the game.
West Marion quarterback Jeremiah Holmes ran for two touchdowns, and Daniels threw two long touchdowns--one to Kevin Johnson and one to McLin.
West Marion will host Raleigh next Friday night, while East Marion will be on the road at Richton.

Purvis-48
Columbia Academy-8
Friday night was one to forget as the Cougars surrendered 41 first-half points and struggled to get the offense rolling in a 48-8 road loss to Purvis.
The Cougars' lone points of the game came on a Ras Pace 1-yard rushing touchdown and him running in the 2-point conversion.
Columbia Academy (1-2) will return home next Friday to play host to Parklane Academy.
