Garbage is piled outside the Gladiolus Food Pantry in Harlem Heights, Fla, Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022. The Gladiolus Food Pantry usually hands out supplies on Wednesdays to about 240 families so when Hurricane Ian swept through that day and cancelled their distribution it was full of flats of canned black beans, bags of rice, meats, bread and produce _ food that helps families hurting from rising rents and inflation make ends meet. By Saturday afternoon much of that food was in the garbage. (Rebecca Santana)
