Each year in the fourth grade, Columbia Elementary School has a Titanic experience based off the real meal first and third class passengers were served on the Titanic. Students dress up and randomly draw a ticket. They are then sat accordingly. This comes during a lesson on first and second hand accounts, and they additionally tie it in with civil rights and social studies. Tables are decorated according to class of the passengers. They are served in different manners, and their teachers wait on them. It can be a rude awakening for some of the students. | Photos submitted
