Voters in the city of Columbia voted overwhelming to approve the franchise agreement with Mississippi Power Monday night. Of the 187 votes, a total of 181 (96.7%) voted for the agreement with only six (3.3%) voting not to.

Monday Police Chief Michael Kelly said human trafficking and sex slavery is happening all over even in Columbia. The investigation into Operation Dollhouse made that very clear when four individuals were arrested and three others were issued citations. Sitting in his office, Kelly shared the dangers of human trafficking and sex slavery.

Truck separates from RV on 98

Marion County Sheriff Deputy Oved Dunaway examines the truck along side U.S. 98 on Monday. A 911 call was received about a truck traveling on the highway without a driver. Upon investigation, it was determined the truck was separated from a RV traveling.
