PRVEPA opts not to seek internet grant

On Tuesday, Gov. Tate Reeves announced 15 Mississippi electrical cooperatives are receiving more than $66 million from the Mississippi Electric Cooperatives Broadband COVID-19 Act. However, Marion County’s local cooperative, the Pearl River Valley Electric Power Association, chose not to apply.

Columbia receives new fire truck

Citizens approach school board

It was an overflowing boardroom Monday night at the Marion County school board special meeting as more than 25 concerned parents and citizens attended or attempted to attend the meeting. Due to the social distancing guidelines, no more than 20 people were allowed in the boardroom, including the board members and Superintendent Wendy Bracey.
