Harlon Peak of Columbia stands Wednesday in front of his tomato plants on Gill Street. He purchased the plants from Hill Hardware and planted them around the first of March. He believes the reason why the plants do so well is because of the location, which limits the amount of sun the plants receive and protects them from the weather.
