City approves extractor, dryer for fire dept.

At the Board of Aldermen meeting Tuesday night, the board approved the Columbia Fire Department’s request to purchase an extractor and a dryer to properly clean the department’s turnout gear and personal protection equipment.

Trial set in annexation matter

The trial in the Columbia annexation matter has been set after a status conference hearing was held Monday morning in the Marion County Courtroom. The trial is set to begin Sept. 20, 2021 at 10 a.m. and is expected to take a week.

Holiday travel yields one death in Marion County

Parade, lights to highlight downtown

After a weather related delay this past Saturday, the wheels are in motion to kick off the Christmas season this Friday night.
Beginning at 6 p.m. will be the Christmas Parade. The parade route will begin on Broad Street near the intersection of Broad Street and Park Ave. It will go up Main Street and conclude around Mayson Ave.
