Mary Beth Buchanan, with the Work Smart Foundation, spoke to the Columbia Lions Club about creating a pipeline to help students succeed in the competitive job market. Buchanan explained that fostering students’ strengths can help them choose their paths. She spoke about having credentials that count, whether seeking professional trade school or to finish a college degree to become ready for employment in their chosen field. The Work Smart Foundation helps students find paid internships in their desired field before leaving high school. The Work Smart Foundation motto is, “We don’t just prepare students for graduation–we equip them for life.” For more information call 601-441-0403 or visit their website at WorkSmartFoundation.org
