Columbia Academy sweeps wounded West Marion

Columbia Academy and West Marion have been on opposite ends of the spectrum to start the 2025 season, as evidenced by the two squads’ two-game series last week. The Cougars topped the Trojans 8-0 Feb. 25 and 8-3 Friday to pull off a sweep over their Marion County foes from across the Pearl River.

The football community lost a legend Feb. 26 as longtime offensive line coach and current Columbia Academy assistant football coach Mark McHale passed away at the age of 74.

Pittman, Odom named to 2025 All-Star softball rosters

Pitcher Izzy Pittman and infielder Gracie Odom were both named to the 2025 1A/2A/3A/4A Fast Pitch Softball All-Star Game rosters by the Mississippi Association of Coaches.
