Trojans win district on week off

West Marion enjoyed a five-game winning streak heading into its bye last week, but the Trojans managed to pull off a victory without even competing Friday night. By virtue of Perry Central handing St. Stanislaus its second district loss, the West Marion Trojans clinched the Region 8-3A championship.

Offensive fireworks give Wildcats district title

Winning a district contest on the road is rarely easy, as was the case for Columbia Friday night in Monticello. But the Wildcats lit up the scoreboard to keep Lawrence County at bay, winning 55-34 to clinch their third district championship since rejoining Class 4A four years ago.
